The Browns acquired Howard in a trade with the Texans on Monday in exchange for a fifth-round pick and signed him to a three-year, $63 million contract extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Howard was one of three offensive lineman to ink a big deal during the offseason, but he was also second offensive lineman to suffer an injury during camp. A broken hand and resulting surgery could keep out into the regular season. Once healthy, Howard will bookend the line at right tackle opposite Laremy Tunsil.
