The Buccaneers invested a third-round pick this April in Smith, who posted 140 tackles, including 21.5 for loss and five sacks, eight interceptions (including a pick-six) and a pair of forced fumbles over a 51-game college career at West Virginia and Georgia. The promising rookie will have the luxury of learning from the star safety tandem of Jordan Whitehead and Antoine Winfield, and while the veteran duo will block his path to meaningful snaps, Smith should begin laying a foundation for future IDP success.
