McCollum spent his first pro season on the Texans' practice squad after going undrafted in 2022 and made just three appearances for the Eagles in 2023. His role expanded in 2024, however, as he got into 14 games and even made a pair of starts at strong safety, filling in for the injured Reed Blankenship in Week 14 and then starting alongside a host of backups in the regular-season finale.
