March 11, 2026
Hendrickson (hip/pelvis) is slated to sign a four-year, $112 million contract with the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After a trade agreement that would have sent star defensive end Maxx Crosby (from the Raiders) to the Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks fell apart, it didn't take long for the team to pivot to adding another impact pass rusher. Hendrickson is recovering from December core-muscle surgery, but he'll presumably be past the issue once Baltimore's offseason program begins. In seven games with the Bengals in 2025, the 31-year-old recorded 16 tackles and four sacks, but in both of the two seasons prior to that Hendrickson racked up 17.5 sacks.

Hendrickson looked to be due for regression in 2024 after logging a career-high 17.5 sacks in 2023 - a number that far outpaced his underlying metrics such as quarterback hits. However, he instead repeated his 17.5 sack total and upped his quarterback hits to 36 and total quarterback pressures to a career-best mark of 83 in 2024. Those performances, combined with the explosion of the edge rusher market, have set the scene for a dramatic offseason. Hendrickson is entering the final season of his current contract and has stated he will not play in 2025 without a new deal, while the Bengals have yet to meet his demands. There's still time for the sides to find a resolution, but this is a situation to monitor as training camp nears.
Hendrickson had the best season of his career in 2023 by nearly any measure. That began with his ability to stay on the field, as he managed to play a full season for the first time since 2021. The result was a career-high 714 defensive snaps, 17.5 sacks and 43 total tackles. Hendrickson's calling card remains his ability as a pass rusher, and he's finished no worse than 11th in quarterback pressures in each of the last three years (per PFF). While he's unlikely to replicate his sack total from last season, his ability to get to the quarterback consistently illustrates his ability to disrupt offenses and rack up production. Hendrickson's limitations as a defender against the run will cut out some of his upside relative to the elite defensive lineman, but there will be a nearly guaranteed level of production for anyone rostering him.
Hendrickson is a good example of how and when to pay up in free agency. The Bengals paid a high price to reel in Hendrickson off the open market, but it was worthwhile because he’s a proven producer who’s still in his prime. He was an instant impact defender for Cincy, following up his 13.5-sack 2020 season with 14 in his first year with the Bengals. Unfortunately, the tackle totals will always be modest.
Hendrickson is coming off a career-year with the Saints, having notched 13.5 sacks playing opposite Cameron Jordan at defensive end. For his efforts, Cincinnati rewarded him with a four-year, $60 million deal, costing the Bengals more than what his predecessor, Carl Lawson, got with the Jets. We'll see if Hendrickson can replicate his success without opposing teams focusing on an elite teammate, such as he had with the Saints.

Eager for fresh start
DEBaltimore Ravens
March 14, 2026
Hendrickson told reporters during his introductory press conference Friday that he's excited for his new opportunity with the Ravens while remaining in the AFC North division, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
"When you're talking about the AFC North, there's history. It's a nasty brand of football. It punches you in the mouth. To be on the other side of the ball and experience that, I'm so excited to be in the [Ravens'] building and experiencing it now," Hendrickson relayed Friday. He spent the last five years in Cincinnati, though his relationship with the Bengals soured over the last two seasons after the two sides couldn't come to terms on an agreement on a contract extension. Hendrickson was limited to only seven regular-season games in 2025 due to hip and pelvic injuries, but the superstar pass rusher logged 17.5 sacks in back-to-back years from 2023 to 2024 without missing a regular-season game.
