Negotiates contract adjustment
Denver agreed Tuesday to give Surtain a $5 million raise with an additional $5 million incentive for a Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection in 2026, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Surtain is now officially in the first year of the four-year, $96 million contract extension he signed with the Broncos back in September of 2024, so the pay bump is not a huge change. The incentive doesn't appear to be a difficult one for the cornerback to reach, as he's already made four straight Pro Bowls. If Denver is able to again field one of football's top defenses in 2026, Surtain will probably be one of the biggest reasons why.

Surtain's excellent start to his career continued in his fourth season, as the cornerback was named the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The 2021 first-rounder finished the campaign with 45 total tackles (34 solo), 11 passes defensed, including four interceptions and a touchdown. He also added one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Surtain signed a four-year, $96 million extension last September, making him the highest-paid cornerback in the league. The 25-year-old has proven to be a young defensive star in the league, and he will undoubtedly continue to develop within the Broncos defensive scheme.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected back after bye
Surtain is expected to return for Denver's Week 13 matchup against the Commanders, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Surtain has missed the last three games with a pectoral injury, but the team's bye in Week 12 will provide the star cornerback with additional time to recover. He has yet to return to practice, though that will presumably change early next week. Even while missing Surtain's shutdown coverage, the Broncos have gone 3-0 in his absence.
