In position for early success
CBKansas City Chiefs
May 6, 2026
Tom Blair of NFL.com predicts Delane will have quick success in the Chiefs' defense as a rookie.
ANALYSIS
The Chiefs invested the sixth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft -- a slot they traded into from the No. 9 spot -- in the elite cornerback from LSU, making it clear they have immediate plans to make Delane a key component of the defense. Blair cites the combination of Delane's "head-of-the-class talent," the stability of the Chiefs' coaching staff and his premium spot on a team expected to bounce back from a disappointing season as critical components of Delane's chances for early-career success on a team with an impressive recent history of successful young corners.
