Fairbairn reestablished himself as a top fantasy kicker in 2024, bouncing back from an injury-plagued 2023 to play all 17 games and finish top 5 in field-goal attempts, made field goals and fantasy points. It was his eighth season as Houston's kicker and his first top-10 fantasy season since Deshaun Watson's prime, with Fairbairn earning every bit of it behind a 13-of-16 showing from 50-plus yards. He's always had a solid conversion rate from long range, but he had exactly six attempts from there six years in a row before leaping up to 16 50+ tries last year. While regression on the long-range volume is likely, Fairbairn will again have both job security and a generally favorable situation for fantasy production, kicking for the back-to-back AFC South champs in a weak, warm-weather division. Fairbairn, who tied a franchise record for field goals in a single game, upped his season total to 44 field goals, which tied an NFL single-season record set by David Akers in 2011 for the 49ers. Fairbairn, who missed two games in 2025 due to injury, converted 44 of 48 attempts (91.6 percent) and all 28 of his extra-point tries in 2025. He finished second in the NFL scoring with 160 points, behind only Seattle's Jason Myers (171).

Fairbairn has been Houston's kicker ever since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017, converting 87.1 percent of field-goal attempts and 92.4 percent of PATs across seven seasons. He led the league with 37 field goals in his second season but then faded from fantasy relevance for a few years while the Texans tried to find their footing without QB Deshaun Watson. The team rebounded in a big way last season under rookie QB C.J. Stroud, and Fairbairn went along for the ride with 9.3 fantasy points per game (third most among kickers). In addition to his solid track record for short-range accuracy, Fairbairn has made at least three kicks of 50-plus yards every season, going 29 of 40 overall (72.5 percent) from long range. He should stay busy in 2024 after the Texans added WR Stefon Diggs to an already-potent offense.
