Back for mandatory minicamp
Sweat was present for the Cardinals' mandatory minicamp Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Sweat chose not to participate in Arizona's voluntary OTAs, but he's now returned for the mandatory part of the offseason program. The veteran edge rusher impressed during his first season with the Cardinals, appearing in all 17 games and posting 30 total tackles, including a career-high 12.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and two passes defensed. He's expected to remain one of the NFL's top pass rushers ahead of the 2026 season.

Sweat was a key cog in Philadelphia's pass rush the past six seasons, averaging 7.7 sacks (and 9.7 tackles for loss) per 17 games during that span. He was especially disruptive in Super Bowl LIX, when he accounted for 2.5 of the Eagles' six sacks of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in a 40-22 victory. Sweat cashed in this offseason with a four-year, $76.4 million contract with the Cardinals, who likely will pair him with Zaven Collins as the team's top edge rushers.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Lack of practice downplayed
Coach Mike LaFleur downplayed Sweat's lack of participation Tuesday during mandatory minicamp, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sweat worked out on his own for most of the offseason and was not present for any voluntary team sessions. While he reported for mandatory minicamp Tuesday, he did not participate in any drills. LaFleur seemed to chalk up the non-participation to conditioning and Sweat's lack of prior participation in team activities, though there is speculation that Sweat is unhappy with his situation in Arizona. There have also been reports that teams have inquired about the pass rusher's availability in a trade, though the team has denied any willingness to deal him.
