Stokes is slated to sign a three-year, $30 million contract to remain with the Raiders, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Stokes will get $20 million guaranteed on his new deal with Vegas after recording 53 tackles (35 solo) and five passes defensed for the Raiders in 2025. That was the 27-year-old cornerback's most productive season since his rookie 2021 campaign in Green Bay, when Stokes notched 14 passes defensed and 55 tackles (43 solo) in 16 regular-season games.

A 2021 first-round pick out of Georgia, Stokes finally parted ways with the Packers after four seasons in Green Bay where he started 32 of 45 games played, most notably notching 14 passes defensed as a rookie before the injuries and regression arrived. He'll be an early favorite for one of the two starting roles on the boundary at cornerback for the Raiders, ultimately battling against Decamerion Richardson and Darien Porter.
It was not an ideal sophomore season for Stokes, who was not as effective as he was as a rookie and missed the last eight games of the campaign due to injury. He is still working his way back, and it remains to be seen if he will be ready for Week 1.
Some raised an eyebrow when the Packers selected Stokes at the end of the first round last year, but no one was doing that by the end of his impressive rookie year. The Packers needed Stokes to step up with Jaire Alexander missing most of the season, and he wound up starting 14 of 16 games while grading out as one of the better coverage corners in the league. Although he had just one interception, he did register 14 pass deflections over 16 games. Stokes is slated to start opposite Alexander in 2022, and that duo plus Rasul Douglas could form one of the better cornerback trios in the league.
Speed is the name of the game for Stokes, and a 4.31 40-yard dash from his pro day played a big part in the Packers' selecting him 29th overall in April. He isn't guaranteed to open the season as a starter, but he figures to push incumbent Kevin King and could snag the spot opposite Jaire Alexander with a strong showing in camp. One way or another, Stokes should play a key role for the Packers in his rookie year.

Poised to start for new team
CBLas Vegas Raiders
June 19, 2025
Stokes and Darien Porter worked as the Raiders' first-team cornerbacks during OTAs and minicamp, per Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Stokes could be on his way to establishing himself as the Raiders' top cornerback after signing a one-year, $4 million contract with Vegas in March. He seems cemented atop the depth chart at the moment, as Porter's a rookie third-round pick, while Jakorian Bennett and Decamerion Richardson have been running with the backups. Staying healthy will be key for Stokes, who played in all 17 regular-season games for the Packers in 2024 but was limited to 12 appearances over the previous two regular seasons due to injuries.
