Typically, when there is a disconnect between a player's fantasy value and value to their team, it skews toward the player having superior fantasy value. The opposite is true of Lloyd. Despite developing the ability to play well against the run and pass as well as excelling as a pass rusher, he has never logged 1,000 defensive snaps while topping 115 total tackles only once in his four-year career. Part of that relative lack of production was likely caused by the presence of Foyesade Oluokun, who has been Jacksonville's top linebacker since joining the team in 2022. Now, Lloyd should have the chance to captain a defense of his own after joining the Panthers on a three-year, $45 million contract this offseason. He should play an every-down role with a realistic chance of posting a career-best tackle mark.
