2025 Fantasy Outlook
Buckner displayed remarkable durability through his first eight NFL seasons, surpassing 750 defensive snaps in every season and failing to top 800 defensive snaps just once. That streak came to an end in 2024 when he missed five games due to an ankle injury, although he still managed to record 61 total tackles and displayed the same dominance he has shown throughout his career. While his health is a minor warning sign that his body might be starting to slow as he enters his age-31 campaign, Buckner remains a premier run stuffer and among the best defensive linemen at generating interior pressure on the quarterback. Season marred by neck injury
Buckner (IR, neck) recorded 47 tackles (30 solo), including 4.0 sacks, in 10 regular-season games with Indianapolis in 2025.
ANALYSIS
Buckner missed just two combined games in his first eight seasons as a pro, but he has now sat out 12 games over the past two years. In 2025, it was a neck issue that forced him to miss seven of the Colts' last eight games. He was on pace for 75-plus tackles and at least 7.0 sacks before that point though, so there's reason to suspect he could rebound in 2026. He has one year left on his contract with Indianapolis going into his age-32 season.

Buckner has one thing that few other defensive lineman, particularly interior lineman, can boast in that he's topped 800 defensive snaps in seven of his eight professional seasons. From a durability and pass rushing perspective Buckner has shown no signs of slowing down even as he enters his age 30-season. The only area we've seen any hint of him being on the backside of his career is on special teams, as his snaps on the unit have all but disappeared across the last two seasons. That hasn't been enough to hurt his statline, though and the Colts inked Buckner to a lucrative new two-year deal this offseason, reiterating their faith in him. Buckner won't remain an elite defensive lineman forever, but we've seen nothing to suggest that 2024 is the year his run ends.
