Reinstated from suspension
Sutton was reinstated from his eight-game suspension Tuesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.

Sutton was served with an eight-game suspension due to a March incident in which he was charged with one misdemeanour count of domestic battery. The Steelers were granted a roster exemption for Sutton through Nov. 4, so the 2017 third-round pick is unlikely to be added to the 53-man roster until after that date. Sutton will give Pittsburgh additional depth in the secondary behind Joey Porter, Donte Jackson and Beanie Bishop.

Detroit's search for a No. 1 cornerback in the post-Darius Slay era has not been pretty, but Sutton - who matched Slay with the eight-most PBUs (15) league-wide last year - offers plenty of hope. That he was given a three-year, $33 million deal suggests he is expected to be an every-down player like he was in Pittsburgh over the last two years, and his strong record of health (two missed games over the past five seasons) bodes well for his ability to stay off the sidelines going forward. Another 50ish tackles and a chance at double-digit PBUs is in the cards in 2023.
