A fifth-round pick in 2024 out of Wake Forest, Carson played only six games as a rookie due to shoulder woes that eventually required surgery in December. He looked healthy during the offseason program but suffered a hyperextended knee in late July that's expected to sideline him 4-to-6 weeks. With Trevon Diggs and 2025 third-round pick Shavon Revel both looking iffy for Week 1, though, Carson could be leaned on for significant snaps early in the season, assuming he's healthy. Shoulder and hamstring injuries prevented Carson from playing in each of the Cowboys' last two games, but his full practice Wednesday puts him on track to return for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Giants. With Trevon Diggs being claimed off waivers by the Packers on Wednesday, Carson and Trikweze Bridges figure to be the Cowboys' two starting outside corners for Week 18.
