The Chargers signed Ingold to a two-year, $7.5 million contract Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The deal makes Ingold the NFL's highest-paid fullback and reunites him with OC Mike McDaniel, who was Ingold's head coach in Miami the previous four seasons. Ingold logged 37 percent of the offensive snaps across 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins during the 2025 campaign.

Ingold is a capable option in the receiving game when called upon, and he could now get a chance to thrive in coach Mike McDaniel's offense which deployed Kyle Juszczyk as a legitimate weapon back in San Francisco. With 195 receiving yards and two scores over the last two seasons, though Ingold isn't a realistic candidate to become fantasy relevant even if his involvement does increase.
Ingold managed to double his reception total in Year 2 with 12 total catches for 110 yards and a touchdown in 16 games last season, but he was used primarily as a blocker out of the Raiders' backfield in addition to his contributions on special teams. The gritty fullback also played through fractured ribs in November, earning compliments from coach Jon Gruden in the process.
