This article is part of our FantasyAces Football series.
Daily fantasy football is back in full swing, and FantasyAces is ready to continue the momentum from a huge first half. Not sure how to play at Fantasy Aces? We're here to help. Each week, RotoWire will offer advice on which cheap value players to target to give you that extra edge. These players are considered tournament plays unless otherwise noted, as all are listed as salary cap saving value plays.
QUARTERBACK
Jameis Winston, $5,600 vs. DAL
Winston continues to be a solid value play on FantasyAces after another 20-fantasy point game in Week 9. In Week 10, he faces the Cowboys. Dallas has been good against quarterbacks in the last three games, but those came against Eli Manning, Russell Wilson and Sam Bradford. Each has struggled at times this season with fantasy production. Prior to the Giants' bye, they allowed Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Tom Brady to throw for two touchdowns each. Considering Winston has scored at least three times his salary's worth of fantasy points in every game, he makes for a top value again this week on Aces.
Landry Jones, $5,300 vs. CLE
Jones is likely to start for Ben Roethlisberger (foot) in Week 10, and he has an excellent matchup against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, including seven touchdowns in the last two weeks. Jones' price allows you to fit stars into other parts of your lineup, so considering his matchup and price, he makes for a solid value play in Week 10.
RUNNING BACK
LeGarrette Blount, $4,400 vs. NYG
With the unfortunate news of Dion Lewis (knee) missing the remainder of the season, Blount's value goes way up as the feature back in New England. In games where Blount had 15 or more touches this season, he scored 27.7, 22.9, 7.9 and 18.9 fantasy points. With Lewis out, that volume can be expected in most games going forward. In Week 10 the Patriots face the Giants, who have allowed 100 yards on the ground in five straight games. New York has given up over 600 yards on the ground in this stretch. Expect the Patriots to exploit this, making Blount a top value play at just $4,400 on Aces.
T.J. Yeldon, $4,650 vs. BAL
Yeldon has quietly been one of the more consistent backs on FantasyAces in his price range. In each of the last four games, he scored at least 11.6 fantasy points. Two of these games have come against the Jets and Bills, who are two of the top rush defenses in the NFL. In Week 10 Yeldon faces the Ravens, who have given up double-digit fantasy points to opposing running backs in each game this season. If you need a safe, cheap running back, Yeldon is a solid play considering his volume as the Jaguars' feature back.
WIDE RECEIVER
Allen Hurns, $4,900 vs. BAL
Speaking of consistency, Hurns has been the mark of consistency in NFL DFS on FantasyAces. Hurns had a touchdown reception in each of the last six games, which is a remarkable feat in the NFL. He saw 48 targets in the last five games and caught 25 of them. In Week 10 Hurns faces the Ravens, who have given up the second most fantasy points to opposing receivers, including seven touchdowns in the last three weeks. The Ravens' weakness is Hurns' strength, making him an excellent play in NFL DFS.
Davante Adams, $4,300 vs. DET
Adams had a productive week in his second game back since returning from injury, as he cashed in on 11 targets for an impressive line of seven catches for 93 yards. In Week 10, he faces the Lions, who have been struggling in the secondary this season. Detroit has allowed at least one touchdown pass to receivers in all but one game this season–the lone outlier coming against a Vikings offense that doesn't throw much. With Adams returning as the main outside receiver for the Packers, his price at just $4,300 makes him a solid bargain on FantasyAces.
TIGHT END
Zach Ertz, $4,300 vs. MIA
Ertz was a fantasy football afterthought in the beginning of this season, but his recent surge in targets makes him an interesting pick in tournaments for Week 10. Ertz has seen at least six targets in each of the last four games and has at least four catches in each of those games as well. Ertz has yet to catch a touchdown pass this season, but he has the second-most targets in the NFL without scoring a touchdown, second to Jamison Crowder. Regression to the mean is coming for Ertz, who has scored seven times in 190 targets in his career. He faces the Dolphins in Week 10, and Miami has allowed opposing tight ends to notch some big games. Jordan Reed, Charles Clay, Delanie Walker and Rob Gronkowski all posted games of over 13.7 fantasy points against the 'Fins.
DEFENSE
St. Louis Rams, $2,900 vs. CHI
On FantasyAces, the most expensive and the cheapest defenses are rarely far apart in price, and this week is no exception. For Week 10's pricing, the difference between the Broncos and the five defenses tied at the bottom is $800. This essentially means you can choose any defense you like in the middle tier without having to worry about pricing. The Rams have an excellent matchup against the Bears in Week 10, making them a target on FantasyAces. St. Louis has 27 sacks this season, notching at least three in five games. The Bears allowed at least one sack in every game this season and have allowed six defensive touchdowns.
Don't forget to keep an eye on the NFL inactive list. With the injury report changing all the time, a lot could happen before Sunday.
