With the top three positions already secured, the final day of the Summit 6 started out with the lower bracket final matchup between Evil Geniuses and OG.
In the first game of the series, OG were able to secure the hotly contested Naga Siren pick as well as a very strange support, Tiny. The combination of the two heroes was certainly strange. For the first few minutes in lane, JerAx was the one farming. Johan "N0tail" Sundstein's Naga Siren was placed in the support role for the first part of the game, but he transitioned back to carry with a Radiance around 20 minutes. Evil Geniuses responded with their now-signature Venomancer pick, although this time Saahil "Universe" Arora played it in the offlane. Evil Geniuses chose to go for Alchemist to try and end the game before OG's Naga Siren could come online instead of picking a more traditional counter to the hero itself. This worked out well for Evil Geniuses. Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan's Alchemist had a nice time in lane and was able to spiral his net worth totally out of control en route to a Game 1 win. With the second spot in the grand final at stake, OG went back to a much more standard draft in Game 2. Anathan "Ana" Pham's Invoker was absolutely on point almost all game. He gave up a few deaths to Evil Geniuses' Lifestealer/Batrider combination, but was able to take a healthy gold and experience lead going into the mid and late-game. With the rest of OG also playing excellent Dota, they were able to consistently win fights even without their Warlock's Chaotic Offering. This helped them score a series-tying Game 2 win. In Game 3, OG picked up Alchemist, a hero which has been plaguing Evil Geniuses over their past few series. Evil Geniuses responded with the classic hard counter to healing and regeneration heroes, Ancient Apparition. They decided to invest heavily into Ice Blast, picking a carry Faceless Void for Artour "Arteezy" Babaev and Invoker for SumaiL. OG's response was an interesting draft with Terrorblade, Ogre Magi, Oracle and Batrider backing up Alchemist. Evil Geniuses' teamfight wombo-combo never connected like they needed it to, and OG's Alchemist hit critical mass too quickly for them to handle. It seems like the key to beating Evil Geniuses remains the same, pick Alchemist.
The grand final between Virtus Pro and OG started out with Virtus Pro going for a bold Shadow Demon and Luna first two picks. OG attempted to answer with Terrorblade and Outworld Devourer, but Ana struggled on the Outworld Devourer and OG couldn't take fights. Roman "Ramzes" Kushnarev's Luna eventually took over the game. His massive net worth lead enabled him to active Black King Bar and run at OG with his team behind him. OG managed to hold out for 42 minutes, actually taking some good fights defending their base, but the Luna illusions eventually won out for Virtus Pro. In Game 2, OG got a chance to first pick Drow Ranger, but Virtus Pro were more than ready. They responded instantly with Lifestealer and Ogre Magi and proceeded to run OG into the ground. From the start of the game, Virtus Pro were in complete control and ran all over OG. The game was over in 23 minutes with Virtus Pro ahead by 20,000 gold. The third game was a similar story. It started out with a level one fight that was a comedy of errors for OG. It left OG crippled in lane, and they were once again immensely behind as early as 15 minutes. It was an unfortunate way for OG to end their run at the Summit 6, but they still finished in second place. For Virtus Pro this was an incredibly strong showing. They looked very strong all tournament, and didn't drop a beat in the grand finals.
