After a reprieve from competitive League of Legends since the end of the Spring Split, we're ready to get back into things with the Mid-Season Invitational. MSI features six teams from around the world, each being the champion of their respective league's Spring Split. This list includes EU LCS champions G2, LCK champions SK Telecom T1(SKT), LPL champions Royal Never Give Up (RNG), NA LCS champions Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), LMS champions Flash Wolves (FW), and the champions from the International Wild Card region, SuperMassive (SM). Let's face it, anytime SKT are in a tournament they will be considered the favorites. Even after an up-and-down split they managed to win the LCK and will look to take home the Mid-Season Invitational after finishing in second place last season. AlphaDraft is covering the entire slate of games in their contests, meaning we need to look at teams based on their two games of the day and not just one matchup. I'll cover my picks below and will be giving the top play for the extent of the tournament. I generally like to include a "Player to Avoid" for each position, but it's safe to assume the beyond-underdogs, SuperMassive, will take that spot for each respective position.

Daily Player Recommendations:

Top Lane: Looper (RNG vs. CLG, SM, $8,000):

Looper and Duke are the two chalk plays in the top lane on Day One and both get appetizing matchups against SuperMassive. What separates Looper from Duke for me is the second matchup, as RNG will take on CLG while SKT gets to play G2. While I wouldn't be afraid to play Duke against G2, I think Looper has the easier two games overall.

Jungle: Blank (SKT vs. SM, G2, $7,500)

SKT are underpriced for the amount of points they can put up Wednesday. Blank's aggressive style plays well into the fantasy game and as the third most expensive jungler, he has an excellent chance to outproduce his salary. SKT have an excellent matchup against SuperMassive and although their second game against G2 should be close, would you really bet against the LCK champions if you didn't have to?

Middle Lane Chalk: Faker (SKT vs. SM, G2, $7,800):

Faker is priced so low on AlphaDraft, finding himself behind xiaohu and Perkz, and I'm not sure why. He is a must play at this price with a dream matchup against SM before facing off against G2. Why Perkz is priced ahead of Faker I have no idea, but it leaves us with a pretty obvious choice for our mid laner on Day One.

ADC: Bang (SKT vs. SM, G2 $7,900)

Like Faker, I don't understand why Bang is priced so low. My only guess is that AlphaDraft is pricing in a certain amount of caution for SKT's second matchup Wednesday, in which they will take on G2. It's good for us I suppose, as SKT will be heavily owned throughout the slate.

Support: Aphromoo (CLG vs. RNG, FW, $6,800)

This basically comes down to two things: price, and the fact that you can only use three players from one team. I can't afford to pay up for Mata in my lineups and I would rather use Blank, Bang and Faker rather than use Wolf as one of my three SKT players. Aphromoo is a good player and although CLG doesn't have the easiest schedule on Day One, it's possible that they can beat both RNG and Flash Wolves to go 2-0 on the day. Not saying it will happen, but it definitely could.

Team: RNG vs. CLG, SM ($4,000):

Using SKT in your team role takes up one of three precious SKT lineup spots, so there's no way I'd use them as my team over using one of their players in my lineups. RNG is the other chalk team of Day One, with an excellent matchup against SuperMassive and a good matchup against CLG. I can see them going 2-0 as long as they navigate the CLG matchup effectively. Usually I don't pay up for a team, but on AlphaDraft I was able to have enough money to use RNG.
