SKT vs. KT Rolster
SK Telecom T1 showed the world why it's currently the best team on the planet with a commanding 3-0 sweep of KT Rolster on Saturday in the 2017 League of Legends Champions Korea spring split finals in Incheon, South Korea.
Game 1 started off slow before KT started to pull ahead during the early game with strong objective control, taking all three Tier 1 towers by 15 minutes in the game. KT tried to use a 4-for-1 teamfight win at 20 minutes to push for a Baron, but SKT pushed KT off the objective, which effectively stalled KT's progress. The defending world champions won a big teamfight of its own at 27 minutes led by mid laner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok's Fizz, giving his team a Baron kill, a 3,000-gold lead and control in the late game. SKT then took a 4-for-0 teamfight at 36 minutes that let it march into KT's base and pick up the Game 1 win.
Wasting little time, SKT maintained its momentum from Game 1 to pick up first blood on a bottom lane gank from Han "Peanut" Wang-ho's Lee Sin just three minutes in. While KT took a couple of kills in the early going, SKT again pulled away with first tower gold and more kills across the map by the 14-minute mark. The game settled into a lull with little action in terms of kills, but SKT never stopped grinding toward KT's base. It finally found a huge opening with a 5-for-2 ace at 28 minutes, powered by a Peanut triple kill. SKT picked up a Baron shortly afterward, breaking into KT's base with the buff and finding a 4-for-2 teamfight win that locked up Game 2 in just 31 minutes. Peanut was the runaway MVP of this game, finishing with an impressive 6/1/8 KDA (kills/deaths/assists).
With everything on the line, Game 3 got off to a bloody start with two different fights breaking out across the map just a few minutes into the game, where SKT came out victorious with three kills to two for KT. After the explosive opening, the game settled into a crawl before SKT kicked things off again with a pick at 14 minutes that was answered with two more kills from KT. From then on, Peanut's Graves led SKT to teamfight win after teamfight win, starting with a triple kill at 17 minutes. SKT continued to win fights with impunity, culminating in a clean ace at 20 minutes to completely break the will of KT. SKT took a Baron kill at the 23-minute mark, which it used to begin its final push in earnest. KT desperately clung to life with a couple of scattered kills, but Peanut left no room for a comeback en route to his 11/1/9 KDA that gave SKT a dominant 3-0, championship-winning victory.
With the win, SKT will be the Korean representative at the Mid-Season Invitational beginning next week, while KT will now look toward the Summer Split.
