GAMES (EDT)
5:00 a.m: Edward Gaming (EDG) vs. Rogue Warriors (RW)
Starters: EDG: Xiaoxiang, Junjia, Scout, Hope, Meiko
RW: Crazy, Weiyan, Ruby, Zwuji, Ley
7:00 a.m: Team WE (WE) vs. FunPlus Phoenix (FPX)
Starters: WE: Morgan, beishang, Plex, Jiumeng, Missing
FPX: GimGoon, Tian, Doinb, Lwx, Crisp
EDG (2-2) vs. RW (1-3)
EDG are a bit of an enigma at the moment, as they would likely be viewed as a top-five team in the league if they weren't missing star top laner Jinoo while also being forced to start their third-string jungler in Junjia. They returned from the LPL's break last week and were promptly swept by Suning Gaming before sweeping EStar on the weekend, handing Estar their first loss of the split.
Rogue Warriors, on the other hand, are viewed as one of the worst teams in the league despite boasting a top up-and-comer in the AD Carry role with Zwuji. They returned last week and were swept by OMG before taking a game off Invictus Gaming in a 2-1 loss. With Rogue Warriors moving on from Haru in the jungle, they've looked a little better, but are still going to most likely finish well in the bottom half of the league this season.
The safe bet is to run with EDG here, starting with star mid laner, Scout. Xiaoxiang has filled in admirably for Jinoo, while Hope and Meiko are a solid though uninspiring bottom lane. If you want to get wild on a two-game slate, a Zwuji captain

If you want to get wild on a two-game slate, a Zwuji captain lineup is a good way to go, as he is a legitimately good player but just stuck on a bad team. And while Weiyan is a bit of an unknown, EDG's current weak spot is going to be with Junjia in the jungle. While EDG likely win this series, I do think if we see an upset on this extremely chalky two-game slate, it'll be Rogue Warriors who do it.
EDG Players to Target: Xiaoxiang ($6,200), Scout ($7,600), Hope ($8,000), Meiko ($5,200), EDG Team ($5,400)
RW Players to Target: Zwuji ($7,400), Ley ($4,400), RW Team ($4,600)
WE (2-2) vs. FPX (2-2)
Defending world champions FPX had a bit of a hangover coming off their title-winning 2019, but they bounced back with a 2-1 win of fellow top-ranked JD Gaming and a sweep of Dominus eSports last week. It seems whatever was ailing FPX has been fixed over the LPL's hiatus and this team is back to firing on all cylinders. Anyone on FPX is in play on this slate, as I think they'll prove a mountain too tall to climb for the up-and-coming roster of Team WE. Lwx and Doinb, who has a unique style all his own, are the main carries of the team, while Tian is often referred to as one of, if not, the best junglers in the world.
While I truly do like WE's young roster and believe that they have sneaky upside on certain slates, it's hard for me to imagine them beating an FPX squad who look back to their best with GimGoon returning to the lineup. WE returned to action last week with back-to-back sweeps of bottom dwellers Victory5 and Vici Gaming before being crushed by RNG on the weekend. Any chance for WE starts from budding star jungler, Beishang and AD Carry Jiumeng; I can't see anything other than an FPX win here, but better days lie ahead for WE.
FPX Players to Target: GimGoon ($6,600), Tian ($7,400), Doinb ($8,000), Lwx ($7,800), Crisp ($5,400), FPX Team ($5,600)
WE Players to Target: Beishang ($6,000), Jiumeng ($7,000), Missing ($4,800)
