Signs with Virginia Tech
Stewart has signed with Virginia Tech, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Even though Stewart himself suggested he may be available for the 2024 LendingTree Bowl between Bowling Green and Arkansas State, it seems unlikely now that he is signed with Virginia Tech. Part of the ACC, VT's team will have a huge vacancy to fill once Bhayshul Tuten finishes his collegiate career by January 2025. Stewart has the output pedigree to be a suitable replacement, considering he averaged 825 rushing yards and seven touchdowns as a non-freshman for Bowling Green.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Heading into his third season with Bowling Green, Stewart appears primed to carry the lead role at halfback for the Falcons. In 2021, backfield mate Nick Mosely outpaced him in carries, but this can be attributed to Stewart missing three games early in the season. The Falcons still like to disperse their touches, but it shouldn’t be a true backfield-by-committee in Bowling Green — Stewart should see at least the majority of the carries. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bowling Green lean on their rushing attack either, as returning starting quarterback Matt McDonald has been solid but far from efficient. In 2021, McDonald threw for 2555 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions on 60.1% completion. Not exactly numbers you want to build your offense around.
