Declares for NFL Draft
Blackshear has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, according to his personal Twitter account.
ANALYSIS
Blackshear will begin preparing for the draft at the end of the season after spending his last two college years with the Hokies. He ended the 2021 regular season with 121 carries for 714 yards and six touchdowns across 12 games. It does sound as though he will suit up for the team's bowl game before moving on.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Blackshear served as the Scarlet Knights third-string running back a season ago, but the graduation of both Gus Edwards and Robert Martin after the 2017 campaign opened up over 250 carries. Blackshear appeared the favorite to land the lead role for Rutgers, but the offseason transfer of Jonathan Hilliman from Boston College potentially puts those plans on pause. Blackshear now figures to serve in a secondary role to the senior, though both he and freshman Isaih Pacheco should contribute on Saturdays. However, Hilliman proved particularly proficient as a pass catcher last season at Boston College, hauling in 24 passes, which could limit his upside as a receiver in 2018 after leading the position group in receiving yards last season.
