Whittington posted nine carries for 67 yards and one touchdown and reeled in 2 of 3 targets for 18 yards during Saturday's 49-21 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Whittington scored on Oregon's first drive of the game with a nine-yard rushing touchdown. The RB2 clearly still didn't see a ton of carries behind lead back Jordan James, who rushed 15 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns. But, Whittington logged at least nine carries for the fourth time in the last six games, and he's now accrued 52 carries for 283 yards and four rushing touchdowns to go along with two receiving scores over this span. His increased usage has been correlated somewhat with the team's stretch of blowout wins down the back half of the year. Therefore, it's unlikely that he'll see quite as much run during next week's Big Ten Championship Game versus Penn State, which boasts one of the nations' best defenses.

Whitington transferred from Western Kentucky and contributed for the Ducks right away, serving a change-of-pace back behind Bucky Irving. He rushed for 779 yards and five touchdowns but made a very strong impact as a passing option out of the backfield, catching 22 passes for 169 yards. Whittington and Irving will probably share the same load this season, but the team will ride with the hot hand often.
