Despite entering the transfer portal, Brown remains the backup quarterback for the Buckeyes ahead of Julian Sayin for Saturday's game against Tennessee, Dan Hope of ElevenWarriors.com reports. "Julian's getting a lot of reps in there, but Devin right now is the backup quarterback," head coach Ryan Day said.

Even though Brown won't be part of the OSU program for the 2025 season, he remains an important piece of the puzzle ahead of the postseason. He's the next in line in the quarterback depth chart behind Will Howard. Brown completed 26 of his 47 pass attempts for 325 yards, three touchdowns and an interception during his time at Ohio State, and he'll have one year of eligibility remaining once this season ends.
