Declares for NFL Draft
Mattison announced Friday via his personal Twitter account that he will forgo his senior season to enter the 2019 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Mattison pieced together the best season of his collegiate career in 2018, rushing for 1,415 yards and 17 touchdowns while hauling in 27 receptions for 173 yards over 13 games. After Boise State's bowl game was ruled a no-contest due to poor conditions, Mattison has decided that he will pursue success at the next level. Robert Mahone and Andrew Van Buren appear to be the front-runners to take over the starting tailback spot next year for the Broncos.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Mattison enters the year with a clear runway for takeoff after Jeremy McNichols bolted for the NFL. As a freshman last season, Mattison averaged 4.90 yards per carry across 67 carries, with most of his carries coming in blowout wins for the Broncos. In those three games with double digit carries, Mattison averaged 5.15 yards per carry. Now that Mattison (5-11, 206) is the clear feature back, he should see monster volume with the potential to see 200-plus carries. With that, Mattison will challenge San Diego State's Rashaad Penny in the race to be the Mountain West's top running back.
