Brendan Sorsby Injury: NCAA denies Texas Tech's appeal

Texas Tech's request for reinstatement of eligibility for Sorsby has been denied by the NCAA, per ESPN.

The denial likely ends Sorsby's chances of suiting up for Texas Tech in the upcoming season. His individual request for reinstatement was denied in late May and now his new program's effort has fallen short as well. The NCAA's ruling was made on Friday while both parties await a decision from a Texas judge regarding a lawsuit Sorsby filed on May 18. The transfer quarterback was ruled ineligible by the NCAA after admitting to a gambling addiction that began during his time at Indiana. The Red Raiders' quarterback reins now fall to Will Hammond (knee), who will look to be ready by the fall.
