2025 Fantasy Outlook
Sorsby started all 12 games for the Bearcats in 2024 after transferring in from Indiana. His ability to contribute in the run game, where he had 447 yards and nine touchdowns, is what makes him intriguing for fantasy rosters. It will be his second year in Scott Satterfield's offense, and he will have one of his favorite targets in TE Joe Royer. It's worth noting that Cincinnati did lose four of their top five receivers, so there will need to be some chemistry built with the new pass-catchers. There's also some newer talent in the backfield with Ohio State transfer Evan Pryor (he did play in a reserve role at Cincinnati last year) and Wisconsin transfer Tawee Walker. In a competitive Big 12 conference, the Bearcats should put up some impressive offensive production weekly, and Sorsby should remain front and center in that offense. Read Past Outlooks
Leaving Texas Tech, heading to NFL
Sorsby plans to withdraw a lawsuit Tuesday that would allow him to play for Texas Tech in 2026 and will instead forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the NFL's supplemental draft, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sorsby was recently granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA that would have allowed him to play for Texas Tech in 2026 after serving a two-game suspension to begin the season, but after a rush of intense backlash and media scrutiny over the past few weeks, he's elected to bring an end to his college career. At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds and a track record of excellent production over his last two seasons as a starting quarterback at Cincinnati, Sorsby might have graded out as a potential early-to-mid-round selection had he entered the 2026 NFL Draft, but in the wake of his betting-related admissions coming to light, it's difficult to project where he might be selected in the supplemental draft. As for Texas Tech, Will Hammond now looks to be the frontrunner to open the upcoming season as the team's starting quarterback, assuming he makes a full recovery from the knee injury he suffered in late October.
