Moving on to NBA
Peterson announced Friday via social media that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Kansas to enter the 2026 NBA Draft.
ANALYSIS
Widely viewed as a likely top-five selection in the draft, Peterson's decision to leave school after just one season was fully expected. One of the more heralded prospects in the Class of 2025, Peterson didn't have the smoothest transition to college, with lower-body injuries keeping him out for nine of Kansas' 13 non-conference contests. However, Peterson was at his best during conference play and in the NCAA tournament, averaging 20.4 points, 4.3 assists, 2.6 three-pointers, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks in 29.6 minutes per contest over his final 20 appearances after the calendar flipped to 2026. His departure leaves a huge void in the Kansas backcourt heading into 2026-27.
