After barely seeing the court to begin the 2023-24 season, Mann was traded from Oklahoma City to Charlotte before the trade deadline, affording him with a nice opportunity to prove his worth. In fact, following the trade, Mann started 28 consecutive games to close the season, averaging 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.4 three-pointers in 31.0 minutes per game. During that span, Mann put up top-130 numbers, proving to be a sneaky late-season addition for anyone who snapped him up. However, coming into the 2024-25 season, the Hornets expect to have LaMelo Ball fully healthy, shifting Mann back to the bench. He may have done enough to establish himself as the primary backup ahead of Vasilije Micic, but unfortunately, that role likely won't produce sustainable value. While he isn't worth drafting in standard leagues, Ball's ongoing health concerns could open up another opportunity for Mann at some point. Managers would be wise to keep an eye on things in Charlotte, just in case Ball is forced to the sideline, even for a limited period. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Tre'Shaun Albert Mann was born in February of 2001 in Gainesville, Florida. He is the son of Albert Mann and Tai Bey and has five siblings. For prep school, Mann attended The Villages Charter School in Florida. During his junior season at The Villages, Mann delivered 20 points and 5.6 points per game. But he suffered a knee injury in the Class 5A-District championship game. Mann returned healthy for his senior season and boosted his scoring to 23.6 points per contest. That production led to Mann earning the Daily Commercial All-Area Player of the Year award. In August of 2018, Mann committed to attend the University of Florida. During the 2019-20 season, Mann started four of 29 games for the Gators and played 17.8 minutes per game. But as a sophomore, Mann started all 24 games for Florida and posted 16.0 points, 5.6 boards and 3.5 assists per game. Those stats led to Mann being named First Team All-SEC by the league's coaches. In March of 2021, Mann declared himself eligible for the 2021 NBA Draft. Mann was then selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 18th overall pick.
ANALYSIS Mann was sidelined for Sunday's game against Cleveland as he manages a lower-back injury. If Mann is unable to play Tuesday, Vasilije Micic and Seth Curry would see additional playing time off the Hornets' bench.

2023
2022
Despite flashing some offensive upside throughout his career, Mann is yet to establish himself as an every-night part of the Thunder rotation. He played 67 games during the 2022-23 season, averaging 7.7 points, 1.8 assists and 1.2 three-pointers in 17.7 minutes per game. With Oklahoma City continuing to build a nice young core, Mann's path to minutes becomes even tougher. He will likely battle for backup minutes with Aaron Wiggins, Cason Wallace and Vasilije Micic. Give he could struggle to see more than about 14 minutes per night, Mann is not someone to target outside of the very deepest leagues.
Mann was the 18th overall pick out of Florida last season. He appeared in 60 games (26 starts) and averaged 10.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals in 22.8 minutes with the Thunder. His rookie season was a mixed bag, though that's to be expected from a mid-first-round pick. Mainly, he struggled with his efficiency. He lived in floater range and from the three-point line, taking 28 percent of his shots from the short mid-range and 43 percent of his shots from distance. However, he only converted his short mid-rangers at a 40 percent clip while shooting a decent-but-not-great 36 percent from three. Finishing at the rim was an issue, too, as he made just 48 percent of his 90 attempts at the basket. Overall, the result was a rank of 271st in per-game fantasy value. He might have trouble finding more minutes this season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey and Luguentz Dort remain the staples in the backcourt/wing. Off the bench, Mann will compete with Theo Maledon, Ty Jerome, Jalen Williams and Aaron Wiggins for minutes. Mann is expected to mostly battle Williams -- the 12th overall pick in this summer's draft. Given the situation, managers should avoid Mann in standard fantasy leagues, though there's still some deep-league dynasty/keeper upside.

ANALYSIS The Oct. 21 deadline represents the last date teams can sign players to rookie-scale extensions, and while negotiations have progressed more slowly than initially expected, the Hornets could still hand Mann a new deal before the start of the 2024-25 campaign. Mann is expected to open the season as a backup behind LaMelo Ball at point guard, but the Hornets believe he has enough of a future to remain part of the franchise in this rebuilding process. If he doesn't sign a deal by the Oct. 21 deadline, he will become a restricted free agent following the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
