After an underwhelming start to his rookie season, Clowney thundered onto the standard league radar down the stretch. Over the final two weeks of the season, he managed to put up top-85 value in standard formats, averaging 12.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.1 three-pointers in 29.4 minutes per game. Following the offseason trade of Mikal Bridges, it appears as though the Nets could be ready to lean into a rebuild. Although they still have some veterans on the roster, they also have some intriguing young pieces to experiment with. Clowney fits that bill to perfection, providing Brooklyn with a floor-spacing rim protector who may have only scratched the surface when it comes to overall upside. A few questions remain regarding his exact role coming into the 2024-25 season, not least of which is whether he will start or come off the bench. Either way, it would make sense for the coaching staff to get him on the floor to see what the rotations look like. Managers should keep an eye on the projected rotation as the start of the season draws near. Should Clowney be headed for 25 minutes per game, he makes for a viable late-round flyer, even in standard leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
After being a four-star recruit at Dorman High School and averaging 17.5 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks as a senior, Noah Clowney committed to Alabama, where he was a one-and-done. Clowney started 32 of his 36 appearances as a freshman, averaging 9.8 points on 48.6 percent shooting, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 combined blocs-plus-steals in 25.4 minutes. Those numbers got him voted to the SEC All-Freshman Team. He also put up career highs of 22 points, five threes, 15 rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks. Alabama won its conference tournament and made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. Clowney is a wiry big who may spend time at the four and five at the NBA level depending on the team's system and/or how consistent his three-pointer becomes. Offensively, he showed upside to space from the corners and work in the pick-and-pop, and his length and soft hands allow him to catch and finish off cuts to the hoop. He's an impactful rebounder. Defensively, he's mobile and disciplined, so he may be extra valuable to a team that switches and hedges its bigs onto perimeter players. Mobile, lengthy bigs than can drill the three are highly sought after in the switchy, spaced-out modern NBA. He'll be most valuable to a team that embraces that style, and if the jumper continues to develop, it's easy to imagine him making an impact off the bench in Year 1. From there, there's a path to starting. Clowney's role feels malleable based on which team drafts him and what sort of progress he makes on his three-ball and physicality, but there's potential for a Jarrett Allen-type with a three-ball or a defensively-tilted John Collins.
Adds 15 off bench
FBrooklyn Nets
November 11, 2024
Clowney finished with 15 points (5-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and one block over 20 minutes during Monday's 107-105 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS Clowney's scoring production in Monday's win was certainly a surprise considering he'd put up 18 total points over his last four matchups combined. He did all of his damage from beyond the arc, an area in which he'd struggled entering the night. Clowney is now 12-for-26 from downtown over nine games this season.

Set for bigger role?
FBrooklyn Nets
July 10, 2024
Clowney could be in line for a bigger role in the 2024-25 season now that the Nets are set to enter a rebuilding process, according to Brian Lewis of The New York Post. "It's an opportunity for me so I can't waste it," Clowney said.
ANALYSIS Clowney was selected with the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft but didn't leave his mark as a rookie, averaging only 5.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game across 23 appearances, including four starts. While a starting role might be too much for him to handle right now, he should see consistent minutes off the bench as a frontcourt option, either at the four or five.
