2025 Fantasy Outlook
Thybulle made only 15 regular-season appearances last season due to knee and ankle injuries, but he ended the campaign healthy and opted into his $11.5 million player option for 2025-26 this offseason. In the past, Thybulle has consistently played a role in fantasy leagues, particularly as a defensive specialist in category leagues. However, even in these situations, he has had limited upside, sometimes achieving top-150 value. Thybulle's lack of offensive production drops him even further down points-league rankings, and his current situation doesn't bode well for any league. With Shaedon Sharpe, Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara and Jerami Grant all demanding major roles on the wings, Thybulle will be left to compete with Kris Murray and Rayan Rupert for reserve minutes. Given Thybulle's defensive prowess, he should carve out a consistent role. However, if he's playing fewer than 20 minutes, it'll be nearly impossible for him to deliver top-250 value. Sees 15 minutes in loss
Thybulle ended with two points (1-6 FG, 0-5 3Pt), one rebound, two assists, one block and two steals across 15 minutes during Tuesday's 114-95 loss to San Antonio in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
After playing 15 games in 2024-25, injuries took their toll again in 2025-26 to limit Thybulle to 30 regular-season appearances. He averaged just 16.0 minutes per contest to go with 5.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 2.0 steals on 43.3 percent shooting from the field. The veteran is now set to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

Thybulle spent the first three seasons of his career in Philadelphia before being traded to Portland in 2022-23. During his first full year for the Trail Blazers in 2023-24, he averaged 5.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.4 assists and 0.8 blocks in 22.9 minutes across 65 regular-season appearances, including 19 starts. However, Thybulle struggled with efficiency, posting 39.7/34.6/75.9 shooting splits. While the 26-year-old forward's outside shooting isn't terrible, it was on relatively low volume -- 3.6 three-point attempts per contest. It seems likely that Thybulle will receive a significantly decreased role next year with the addition of Deni Avdija. Thybulle still has to compete for minutes with Jerami Grant, Toumani Camara, Jabari Walker, Dalano Banton and Kris Murray. While Thybulle is one of the most productive defenders in the NBA, his lack of offense and likely reduced role in 2024-25 means his main fantasy value will come in roto leagues where managers are attempting to boost their steals and blocks.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Seen as buyout candidate
Thybulle could be a buyout candidate if he doesn't leave the Trail Blazers via trade before the Feb. 5 deadline, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
ANALYSIS
Thybulle, who's dealing with knee and thumb injuries, has yet to make his 2025-26 season debut. Given that's not expected to change before the deadline, it's easy to see why the veteran's trade market has been very tepid. If Thybulle isn't moved by the Feb. 5 deadline, the veteran is expected to ask for a buyout and become a free agent.
