Malcolm Hill

Hill was born Oct. 26, 1995 in St. Louis, Missouri. He played high school basketball at Belleville East in Belleville, Illinois. As a junior, he averaged 23.8 points and shot 44 percent from three. As a senior, he averaged 25.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 blocks. He finished third for Mr. Illinois Basketball behind Jabari Parker and Jahlil Okafor. Hill played four years of college ball at Illinois. He became a full-time starter as a sophomore, averaging 14.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 30.6 minutes. That season, Hill was named to the All-Big Ten Honorable Mention team by the coaches and media. As a junior, he averaged 18.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 35.1 minutes. That resulted in him being named to the All-Big Ten Second Team. He also made the team as a senior, when he averaged 17.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.3 minutes. He went unselected in the 2017 NBA Draft and signed his first NBA contract with the Pelicans.
