2025 Fantasy Outlook
Murray took a step back in scoring but a step forward in rebounding last season. He's been a top-100 fantasy asset in each of his first three seasons, and that should continue in 2025-26, though it's become apparent his upside is limited. After shooting 41.1 percent from deep as a rookie, his production from beyond the arc has dropped in each of the past two campaigns, posting 34.3 percent on a career-low 5.9 attempts per game in 2024-25. However, his work from three-point range remains a plus overall, and coupled with elite defensive production, strong rebounding numbers and a consistent bill of health, Murray has established a safe fantasy floor. He will start and play 30-plus minutes, but with Zach LaVine, Malik Monk, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis all demanding usage, there won't be a ton of offensive opportunities to go around. Murray will also face pressure from rookie Nique Clifford, but it'd take significant regression for the Iowa product to lose his spot in the rotation when he's healthy. Murray will miss the first weeks of the season after tearing a ligament in his left thumb. Read Past Outlooks
Won't play vs. Dallas
Murray (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.
ANALYSIS
Murray had to exit Sunday's matchup against the Bucks with a left ankle injury, and it will keep him from suiting up Tuesday night. Nique Clifford will be a candidate to start in the frontcourt in Murray's absence, with Doug McDermott also likely to pick up more playing time.

2022
Murray saw a massive bump in production during his sophomore season as his role skyrocketed. That's the progression you want from a second-year player, averaging 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.8 blocks and 2.4 threes per game. That's a well-rounded stat line from such a young player, and many people believe Murray can get to over three three-pointers a game because we saw his percentage drop from 41 percent as a rookie to 36 percent last year. This is one of the best shooters in the league, and as long as he's playing 35 minutes and taking 15 shots a night, Murray should be one of the league leaders in threes. It's also impressive to see him average nearly a block and steal per game, especially since he's providing 5-6 rebounds as well. The one issue is that Sacramento decided to trade for DeMar DeRozan in the offseason. He'll fill the 30 minutes that Harrison Barnes was playing, but DeRozan's presence will take away shots and usage from everyone else. We don't expect it to hurt Murray too much, though, because the Kings desperately need him to stretch the floor for DeRozan, De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Severity of injury unclear
Kings coach Doug Christie said Sunday night that he wasn't sure how severe Murray's ankle injury is, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
ANALYSIS
"I don't know yet, so it's not even for me to speculate," Christie said. "Obviously, we'll get everything and you guys will know as soon as we do." Murray landed on an opposing player's foot and injured his ankle before limping to the locker room with assistance Sunday, and he was unable to return. Murray, who is considered the only untouchable player on Sacramento's roster ahead of the trade deadline, has made just 19 regular-season appearances thus far due to injuries.
