In his sophomore season of high school, Christopher averaged 25.9 points per game. In his junior season, he averaged 25 points and led his team to the 2AA championship. In his senior season of high school, he averaged 29.2 points per game along with 8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game. Christopher was selected to play in the McDonald's All-American game, Jordan Brand Classic and Nike Hoop Summit. Christopher then attended Arizona State in which he only played 15 games due to injury, averaging 14.3 points and 4.7 rebounds. Christopher was drafted by the Rockets with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

Scores 25 in G League
GSioux Falls Skyforce   G League (Heat)
November 20, 2024
Christopher logged 25 points (10-23 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block across 35 minutes during the Skyforce's 121-109 G League win over Wisconsin on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Christopher has been a scoring machine in G League action, having logged more than 20 points thrice in five games the Skyforce have played this season. In his three performances with 20-plus performances, his three-point shooting left a lot to be desired. So if Christopher can get that fixed, he can be more of an affluent scorer than he already has been.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
The Arizona State product was selected by the Rockets with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He saw a consistent bench role for the rebuilding squad. In 74 games (two starts), he averaged 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals in 18.0 minutes. He showed some encouraging upside as a passer and defender, though he struggled with turnovers. He also struggled with his three-pointer, going 56-for-189 (29.6%). That was expected, as he shot just 18-for-59 (30.5%) during his one season in college. Christopher played in Summer League again this year, averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.4 combined steals-plus-blocks. Those are great counting stats, but he wasn't efficient. He shot just 39.6 percent from the field and 12.5 percent from three. This season, Christopher should remain in a reserve guard role. He'll compete for minutes with Trey Burke, TyTy Washington, Garrison Mathews and Eric Gordon. As a result, he's a deep-league flier or a dynasty/keeper option only. His chances of standard-league relevance are slim.
Christopher was selected by the Rockets with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Christopher excelled in his freshman season with Arizona State, averaging 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.4 assists across 29.7 minutes per game. The 6-foot-5 guard is a combo guard who thrives in transition, which should bode well for a Rockets team that features superb fast break players in John Wall and Kevin Porter. Christopher has a chance to see some run on the rebuilding Rockets, but he may not be a consistent rotation player unless Eric Gordon gets traded.

Praised after Summer League
GSioux Falls Skyforce   G League (Heat)
August 12, 2024
Christopher was praised by an NBA scout following his 2024 Summer League performances, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. "He can score. He's still young. He's got NBA talent," the scout said.
ANALYSIS
Christopher is hoping to revive his career with the Heat after being named the MVP in the 2024 Las Vegas Summer League championship game. That led to him signing a two-way contract with the Heat, and although he's unlikely to play a prominent role with Miami, all signs point to him set to have another chance in the NBA after two uninspiring years with the Rockets. Christopher was a first-round selection in the 2021 NBA Draft after Houston grabbed him with the 24th pick. He spent the entire 2023-24 campaign in the G League.
