Following a deep postseason run with the Heat, Vincent arrived in Los Angeles full of optimism heading into the 2023-24 season. Sadly, a knee injury early in the campaign cost him a significant amount of time, limiting him to just 11 regular-season games. Despite playing a consistent role for Miami earlier in his career, Vincent has never been able to crack the top 200 in nine-category leagues. All reports have him healthy coming into the 2024-25 season, a welcome sight for a Lakers team needing depth in the backcourt. Although he could play a key role off the bench, his playing time is unlikely to exceed 20 minutes per game. During his final season with the Heat, Vincent ended as the 246th-ranked player in 25.9 minutes per game. Doing some simple math, it appears Vincent will once again be a non-factor in standard fantasy leagues, barring injuries to other players potentially opening up a larger role. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Vincent was born in 1996 to parents Franklyn and Cynthia. He grew up in Modesto, California and attended Modesto Christian High School as a freshman before transferring to St. Mary's High School. Through three years with St. Mary's, he became the school record holder in points (1,638) and three-pointers made (189). After high school, Vincent spent four years at UC Santa Barbara with an interest in religious studies. Vincent's favorite athlete is LeBron James, and his TV and movie favorites include Breaking Bad and the Harry Potter series. Vincent has also represented the Nigerian national team as recently as the 2019 FIBA World Basketball Cup in China. Vincent had a four-year career with UC Santa Barbara of the Big West conference, where he was a double-digit scorer in each year with the program. He was named the 2015 Big West Freshman of the Year in the 2014-15 season after averaging 10.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 28 games (21 starts). Vincent improved his scoring to 14.1 ppg his sophomore year, posting a career-high 27 points Jan. 14 against Cal Poly. He took another step forward with 14.8 ppg in his junior year, but missed the last eight games of the season. The scoring average dipped a bit his senior year, but he set a new career-high with 28 points March 1 against Long Beach State, and proceeded to earn second-team All-Big West honors. Vincent collected 243 three-pointers during his time with the Gauchos, which was good for 12th in Big West conference history. He also ranked 21st in career minutes played.

Vincent contributed two points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 21 minutes during Friday's 131-125 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS Vincent went just 1-of-6 from the field, continuing his underwhelming start to the season. While it is great to see him healthy and back on the court after missing the majority of last season due to injury, Vincent's real-life impact is far greater than his statistical production would lead you to believe. At this stage, he would need an injury to D'Angelo Russell to have any chance at converting playing time into tangible numbers.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
After playing all four seasons of his career in Miami, Vincent was traded to the Lakers during the offseason. He is coming off his most consistent season as a professional, averaging a career-high 9.4 points, adding 2.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 25.9 minutes per game. While he is still slated to come off the bench in Los Angeles, Vincent is almost certainly going to play a larger role for his new team. Should his minutes push closer to 30 per night, there is a chance he will crack the top 150 for the first time in his career. Given D'Angelo Russell has some defensive issues, Vincent could find himself as part of the closing lineup at times. Weighing up everything we know at this point, Vincent makes for a viable late-round target for anyone in need of assists and steals.
Vincent is coming off his most productive season, in which he started 27 games and played 23.4 minutes per game. He averaged 8.7 points, 3.1 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 0.9 steals on 41.7 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from three and 81.5 percent from the free throw line. His main contributions to the team are his above-average three-point shooting and elite perimeter defense. Coach Erik Spoelstra is known to value two-way players. With Kyle Lowry being 35 years old and not having played more than 65 games any of the past four years, Vincent will likely continue to be the Heat's backup point guard and start when Lowry misses time. In Vincent's 27 starts, he increased his averages to 11.7 points, 4.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 31.9 minutes. Vincent also started eight playoff games, showing that Spoelstra has confidence in him. However, since Vincent's main contributions to the team are on the defensive side of the ball, his production isn't overly impressive. Vincent should be considered as an option for deeper leagues and a solid contributory if Lowry misses any significant time.

Likely to have prominent role
GLos Angeles Lakers
October 14, 2024
Vincent is mentioned as one of several role players who could outperform expectations in the 2024-25 season, according to John Hollinger of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS Vincent missed most of the 2023-24 season with a knee injury and struggled badly in his return to the court, but a healthy offseason could be what he needed to get things back on track. The Lakers aren't one of the deepest teams in the league, and Vincent represents one of the team's best chances to have steady production from the second unit.
