2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bane's 2024-25 season got off to a slow start while dealing with an oblique issue, causing him to average just 13.8 points in 27.2 minutes on a 41.0 field-goal percentage through his first 13 games. After that, Bane averaged 20.5 points on 49.8 shooting, 6.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.0 minutes. Bane will be bringing his All-Star-caliber numbers to a new team in 2025-26 after being dealt to the Magic. Paolo Banchero will still be Orlando's go-to option, but Bane has the opportunity to get similar secondary touches to Franz Wagner. That's a role he's already been playing while next to Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect a significant decrease in usage for the shooting guard. In fantasy terms, Bane has recently been a solid option between picks 30-50, which is the range managers should likely consider drafting him again this season. Read Past Outlooks
Logs 15 points vs. Washington
Bane totaled 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three assists and two rebounds over 24 minutes during the Magic's 120-112 loss to the Wizards on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Bane and the rest of the Magic starters did not play in the fourth quarter while facing a 26-point deficit, as head coach Jamahl Mosley opted to stick with the bench during a furious comeback in the final frame that ultimately fell short. Bane's 24 minutes were his lowest since Nov. 4 against the Hawks (23 minutes), and the sixth-year pro, along with fellow starters Paolo Banchero, Tristan da Silva, Anthony Black and Wendell Carter, will look to bounce back in the second leg of the Magic's back-to-back set Wednesday against the Nets.

Bane played in a career-low 42 games last season. However, when he was on the court, Bane took advantage of Ja Morant's (suspension/shoulder) and Marcus Smart's absence, averaging career highs in points (23.7), assists (5.5) and made three-pointers (3.3) per game. Bane is expected to be healthy this offseason, along with Morant and Smart, so the Grizzlies should be back in contention in 2024-25, but what does that mean for each individual's fantasy value? In 2021-22, Bane appeared in a career-high 76 games and finished 29th in eight-category leagues with averages of 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.0 made three-pointers per game. If he can put together a healthy season, Bane can flirt with that type of finish again, even if he's operating as a secondary offensive option. However, the injury concerns and the uncertainty surrounding Memphis' comeback season make Bane a risky pick in the early rounds of fantasy drafts.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Praised by star teammate
Paolo Banchero praised the arrival of Bane ahead of the 2025-26 season, according to Marc J. Spears of Andscape. "It's a great fit for who we are as a team," Banchero said. "He adds what we're missing, and he also adds to what we already have. It's like the perfect match. We don't have anybody who can make shots like him, who can kind of leverage the way he is able to make shots, then make plays for others and get downhill and create. He's a Swiss Army knife just as a player, as a guard. He is stronger than 99 percent of the guards in the league with how he's built. He's going to fit into what we do."
ANALYSIS
The Magic paid a steep price to acquire Bane via trade, sending Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks and a first-round swap to Memphis. However, Banchero has no doubt that Bane will be worth the high price. A three-point specialist who's also a hard-nosed defender, Bane certainly represents an upgrade at the shooting guard position. Once Jalen Suggs is healthy and available to return from a knee injury, the backcourt of Suggs and Bane should be one of the best defensive guard pairings in the league.
