2025 Fantasy Outlook
The 2024-25 season proved somewhat fruitful for Sharpe, despite his playing just 50 games. When healthy, Sharpe flashed upside on both ends of the court, averaging 7.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 combined steals and blocks in just 18.1 minutes per game, all career-high marks. Fresh off signing a new two-year deal to remain with the Nets, Sharpe will likely serve as the primary backup behind Nic Claxton once again. While this does limit his overall appeal, it is a situation to monitor given the seemingly persistent trade rumors regarding Claxton. Brooklyn is likely to be at the bottom of the standings once again, making the rotation tough to nail down. Should Sharpe ever step into a consistent and sizeable role, the question would then be whether his elite per-minute production can translate into sustainable output. Read Past Outlooks
Slated for season-ending surgery
Sharpe has been diagnosed with an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his left thumb and will require season-ending surgery, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a tough blow for Sharpe, who was in the process of putting together one of the best campaigns of his young NBA career. He averaged 8.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 62 games. Both Danny Wolf and Josh Minott should be in the mix for backup center minutes with Sharpe sidelined.

Sharpe saw a slightly increased role for Brooklyn in 2023-24, averaging 6.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.7 blocks in 15.1 minutes across 61 appearances, including one start. The 22-year-old big man posted career highs across the board while also shooting 57.1 percent from the field. However, he also converted just 61.0 percent of his 2.0 free-throw attempts per contest and doesn't have much of an outside jumper. Sharpe has also struggled with availability throughout his career, as his 61 appearances last year were actually the most in his three years in the NBA. Next season, Sharpe is slated to be the Nets' backup center to Nic Claxton, who just signed a four-year, $100 million extension this offseason. Unless there is an injury to Claxton, Sharpe's main fantasy value will come from his rebounding, efficient shooting and shot-blocking as a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Focused on step forward in 2026-27
Sharpe, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season after undergoing thumb surgery, is committed to showcasing growth during the upcoming 2026-27 campaign, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Sharpe's fifth NBA season was cut short after he was diagnosed with an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his left thumb in March. However, he expects to make a full recovery in time for the start of the upcoming 2026-27 season, and he's using this time to get his body in shape. "Everything's been going pretty good post-surgery, just rehabbing now, trying to stay in shape and stuff like that so I have a good summer," said Sharpe. "I'd say I feel like I could do better, but I've shown growth this season. So it's just all about showing growth and getting better overall. From Year 1 to now, I feel like this season was another year of growth, so I'm just trying to build off that and continue to show growth in my career." The North Carolina product showed growth across the board through 62 appearances during the 2025-26 season and averaged 8.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 18.7 minutes per appearance, all career highs.
