2025 Fantasy Outlook
Caruso delivered a significant impact off the bench for the Thunder in his first season with the organization after being part of the deal that sent Josh Giddey to Chicago last summer. The veteran guard posted averages of 7.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a combined 2.2 steals-plus-blocks per game in 54 regular-season appearances. However, as good as he was for OKC, that importance didn't translate to fantasy. His numbers weren't eye-popping by any means, and the fact that his shooting from deep went from 40.8 percent in 2023-24 to 35.3 percent in 2024-25 also conspired against him. Caruso is expected to hold the same revulsive role for the Thunder in 2025-26. That means fantasy managers should consider other options in drafts, though Caruso might be worth a look in deeper formats due to his solid all-around ability. He has far more value in category-based leagues, where that all-around impact plays even better, particularly since he's an elite backcourt defender with above-average production in steals and blocks while also being capable of operating as a secondary playmaker on short stretches. Shooting struggles in Game 7 defeat
Caruso had 12 points (3-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one block over 39 minutes during Saturday's 111-103 loss to the Spurs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.
ANALYSIS
Caruso entered Saturday's win-or-go-home contest having connected on 55.7 percent of his three-point attempts over the first six games of the series, but he was unable to carry that efficiency into Game 7. His 39 minutes of playing time were his most since the start of the regular season and second most on the Thunder behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (43 minutes). Caruso scored in double digits in five of seven games of the series and will end the Western Conference Finals having averaged 14.9 points, 2.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.9 threes over 26.1 minutes per game. Caruso has been a key piece to the Thunder's success since being acquired from the Bulls during the 2024 offseason and is under contract with Oklahoma City for two more seasons.

Caruso will begin his tenure with the Thunder following an offseason trade from the Bulls, coming off a career-best year in which he ended as the 50th-ranked player in nine-category formats. His numbers across the board represented career-high marks, averaging 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.9 three-pointers in 28.7 minutes per game. Caruso lands in Oklahoma City having built a reputation as one of the best wing defenders in the league. Already arguably the best team in the Western Conference, the Thunder will look to Caruso to guard the opponent's best player on a nightly basis. He will likely slide in as the starting two-guard alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, playing close to 30 minutes per night. Health has been an issue in the past, although Caruso has played in 67 and 71 games in each of the past two seasons. If he can stay on the floor, Caruso should be able to maintain mid-round value thanks to his defensive output and ability to spread the floor.

Caruso is seen as a long-term building block for the Thunder, according to Anthony Slater and Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Caruso was a key player for the Thunder during their 2026 playoff run, and there's a strong argument to say he was the team's second-best player behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Caruso is considered a strong veteran leader who has proven to be able to contribute regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench.
