2025 Fantasy Outlook
The No. 23 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Johnson averaged 7.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.1 blocks per game, shooting 38.5 percent from the field across 22.0 minutes in 29 games during his rookie 2024-25 season. Seven of those games were with the Bucks, but he was used sparingly before his trade to Washington. In his final 10 games, his production increased to 10.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, demonstrating growth and a stronger rhythm as the season drew to a close. Acquired in a February four-team trade that also brought in Khris Middleton, Johnson now joins a young rebuild loaded with opportunity. This offseason, Washington added CJ McCollum to stabilize the locker room and mentor the youth, and traded for Cam Whitmore to bolster the offensive potential alongside rookie Tre Johnson, Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington as part of a promising under-23 nucleus. With those moves, things are a bit crowded in the backcourt, but if he continues building at his end-of-season pace, Johnson could emerge as a versatile scoring and playmaking option off the bench. While his fantasy appeal will be limited to begin the season, Johnson is someone who could see his value rise as the season progresses once the Wizards start to dial back their veterans. Drops 20 points in victory
Johnson ended Sunday's 149-128 win over the Bulls with 20 points (6-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), one rebound and one assist in 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard came over from Washington as part of the trade that sent Anthony Davis (finger) to the Wizards, but Johnson still struggled for regular action at the NBA level with Dallas. Johnson averaged 3.9 points, 1.1 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per tilt through 23 games for the Mavericks this season. All signs point toward Dallas exercising Johnson's team option for 2026-27, and perhaps he'll have a clearer path to minutes if the Mavs don't re-sign Khris Middleton.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Johnson participated in the Australian NBL's Next Stars program in 2023-24 and averaged 2.9 points in 7.7 minutes with the Illawarra Hawks. The 6-foot-4 guard is clearly raw and is years away from being a reliable contributor for the Bucks, so his fantasy upside is almost non-existent across all formats. He might be a player worth stashing in dynasty formats, but when it comes to standard leagues, he's not worth drafting under any scenario since he's buried in the depth chart of a contending team filled with veteran players in their roster.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Linked to Atlanta
Johnson is a player to watch in a potential Trae Young trade, Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Wizards have been linked heavily to Young, and it wouldn't be a surprise if the Hawks tried to pry Johnson out of Washington in the process. The No. 23 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Johnson showed some strong flashes late in the 2024-25 season, but he's since fallen out of favor in Washington.
