2026 Fantasy Outlook
Hope may have been overhyped heading into 2025, but regardless, he's going to be ranked lower on many prospect rankings after a fine season at High-A and a week's worth of games to close the year at Double-A. The 5-foot-10, 193-pound lefty hitter slashed .266/.376/.428 with 13 home runs, 27 steals, a 14.5 percent walk rate and a 26.3 percent strikeout rate in 127 games. His 68.3 percent contact rate and 13.1 percent swinging-strike rate are troubling marks, particularly in a system loaded with talented outfield prospects. Hope is also less likely to stick in center field than org. mates Eduardo Quintero and Mike Sirota, which puts more pressure on his bat. Good but not great outfield prospects like Hope who bat lefty typically get platooned early in the majors, and his .693 OPS against southpaws last year confirms that likelihood. He's more athletic than he looks, as he's got a thicker frame, but Hope's above-average speed could trend down in his mid-20s, and it's his long-term power that's most alluring in fantasy, despite the fact his speed was more apparent in 2025. Shifting to minor-league camp
Hope was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Hope drew another invitation to big-league spring training, but he struggled to find success at the dish and went 1-for-19 in his last nine appearances before being dispatched to minor-league camp. The 21-year-old will now turn his focus to preparing for the 2026 season, presumably with Double-A Tulsa.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hope may have been a trendy sleeper and favorite among sharp prospect analysts this offseason, had he not gone to the Arizona Fall League. Now, the secret's out. Other than proximity, Hope brings everything to the table that we care about in fantasy. He doesn't turn 20 until January, but he hits the ball really hard (elite 108.5 mph 90th percentile exit velocity), sports above-average contact and chase rates and is a plus runner. Acquired by the Dodgers last offseason along with left-handed pitching prospect Jackson Ferris in the deal that sent Michael Busch to the Cubs, Hope slashed .287/.415/.490 with nine home runs, eight steals, a 14.9 percent walk rate and a 24.2 percent strikeout rate in 54 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, with a 10-week absence due to a shoulder injury mixed in. Listed at 5-foot-10, 193 pounds, Hope looks a little thicker than the typical high-end teenage baseball athlete, but he's essentially got the body of an SEC running back -- he can do a standing back flip -- and the expectation is that he will add plenty of value in the outfield. Based on how good Hope looked in the AFL, he could spend the bulk of his age-20 season at Double-A, setting up a 2026 MLB debut.
