2026 Fantasy Outlook
Not since Randy Arozarena's 2020 playoff exploits has a prospect improved their stock more in a postseason than Yesavage did during Toronto's run to Game 7 of the World Series. He finished the regular season as a top 25 fantasy prospect, but then Yesavage logged a 3.58 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB in 27.2 playoff innings, including a historic 12-K performance against the Dodgers in the World Series. Small-sample greatness aside, Yesavage proved over the course of the 2025 campaign that the Jays found a gem with the 20th overall pick in 2024, as he logged at least four starts at Single-A, High-A, Double-A and Triple-A before making his big-league debut Sept. 15. He boasts a true three-pitch mix, with his four-seamer, slider and splitter all getting thrown over a quarter of the time. The most notable thing about the 6-foot-4 Yesavage is his release point height, which is over seven feet - a realm only inhabited by Justin Verlander and Pete Fairbanks during the regular season. This results in an uncomfortable at-bat for hitters and plenty of ugly swings. The one thing to nitpick is his control, as he walked over 15 percent of batters at High-A and Triple-A before walking 10.5 percent of batters in the majors (including the playoffs), but given that he didn't turn 22 until July and is a no-doubt starter, it's not a major concern. Including the postseason, Yesavage threw 139.2 innings in 2025, but the Jays plan to manage his workload early in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Charged with fourth loss
Yesavage (4-4) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks over six innings against Seattle. He struck out seven.
Analysis
Yesavage churned out a quality start, though a no-show from the Toronto offense saddled him with the loss. After not allowing a homer in any of his first seven starts this season, the right-hander has surrendered seven long balls across his past six starts, including a two-run shot to Mitch Garver in the fourth inning Sunday. Yesavage will take a 3.31 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 68:32 K:BB across 73.1 innings (13 starts) into his final outing before the All-Star break, tentatively scheduled for Saturday in San Diego.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Early ROTY favorite?
MLB executives voted Yesavage and Kevin McGonigle as the prospects most likely to be named AL Rookie of the Year in 2026, reports Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline.
Analysis
Yesavage has just three MLB regular-season starts under his belt, but he made a name for himself during Toronto's World Series run with a 3.58 ERA and 39:11 K:BB across 27.2 postseason innings. The 22-year-old right-hander was selected 20th overall by the Blue Jays during the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, and he worked quickly through the minor-league ranks during his first professional season last year. Yesavage's work in the playoffs has already secured his place in Toronto's rotation to begin 2026, and he won't have a strict innings limit coming off the busy debut campaign.
