2017 Fantasy Outlook
Okert saw his first big league action spread across 16 games in 2016. A small sample size provided positive results for the hard-throwing lefty, who posted a 3.21 ERA and a 9.0 K/9 in 14 innings. The rookie offered a low-to-mid-90s fastball to go along with an average slider. Even with the Giants looking at a complete bullpen rebuild this offseason, Okert likely won't find himself serving as anything more than a middle reliever if he makes the Opening Day roster in 2017.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Being discussed
Miami may deal Okert or include him as part of a trade package, reports Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
ANALYSIS
The Marlins are in sell mode and Okert should garner considerable interest from contenders looking for a left-handed reliever. The 31-year-old is having his second straight excellent season in Miami, posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 83:31 K:BB in 69.2 innings since 2021. With still another season before he reaches arbitration, Okert comes without salary-related baggage this season. Given the Marlins appear to be open to dealing virtually anyone on their roster, Okert could be paired with other players as a package deal in a larger trade.
