Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
An undrafted free agent signed by the Phillies back in 2022, Kemp impressed in 74 Triple-A games last season, slashing .310/.417/.570 with 16 homers and 13 steals. Injuries opened up playing time at the big-league level as well, but the 25-year-old failed to impress, hitting .234/.298/.411 with a modest eight homers and two steals in 62 contests. He did manage an impressive 12.1% barrel rate, but that couldn't offset a very poor combination of a 5.5 BB% and 30.7 K%. The whole package did add up to a nearly league-average 95 wRC+, but that's not enough for a regular role for a player who graded out poorly on defense everywhere except for first base. Kemp then underwent a pair of offseason surgeries on both his knee and shoulder, with his recovery timeline unclear. If he's good to go by spring training, he'll have a chance to earn a bench role, with at-bats potentially available on the short side of a platoon in left field if the Phillies think he can play passable defense there.
