2026 Fantasy Outlook
We will always have the first two weeks of Paris. For a short while, Paris looked like the top candidate for early surprise for 2025 breakout season as he roared out of the gate with a .440/.533/1.120 triple-slash line hitting 5 homers, scoring 11 times, and stealing 4 bases in his first 30 plate appearances. The 13.3% walk rate and 20.0% strikeout rate which went into those numbers helped get people excited this breakout was for real and not just some torpedo bat-induced fluke. Cue the Soul II Soul music as Paris then came back to life and back to reality as he hit .129/.193/.198 with the Angels over his next 110 plate apperarances before a thumb injury ended his season on June 24th. Paris's walk rate fell to 5.5% and he struck out in nearly half (48.2%) of those 110 plate appearances after fantasy managers blew threw some early FAAB budgets hoping this was more real than New Coke was in 1984. Paris has always been a very athletic but very flawed prospect, and those magical 30 plate appearances could not change that for his 2026 outlook. Read Past Outlooks

Analysis
Paris made the Angels' Opening Day roster for the 2025 season and got off to a roaring start with a 1.263 OPS, five steals, five home runs and eight RBI in his first 15 games. However, his production at the plate fell off a cliff after that opening stretch, as he slashed .106/.165/.176 over his next 28 outings before being optioned to Triple-A in late May. Paris will start the 2026 season in the minors, though he could see some major-league action early on if Vaughn Grissom (hand) misses time.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Paris made his MLB debut in 2023 but struggled in his first 15 big-league games, going 4-for-40 with a 37 percent strikeout rate. It was still a strong season overall, as he had an .810 OPS with 14 homers and 44 steals at Double-A Rocket City before skipping Triple-A on his way to the majors. Zach Neto will begin the campaign as the Angels' starting shortstop after posting a .685 OPS as a rookie last season, and he'll likely need to falter further in order for Paris to receive an extended look in the big leagues in 2024.
