Paris made his MLB debut in 2023 but struggled in his first 15 big-league games, going 4-for-40 with a 37 percent strikeout rate. It was still a strong season overall, as he had an .810 OPS with 14 homers and 44 steals at Double-A Rocket City before skipping Triple-A on his way to the majors. Zach Neto will begin the campaign as the Angels' starting shortstop after posting a .685 OPS as a rookie last season, and he'll likely need to falter further in order for Paris to receive an extended look in the big leagues in 2024.
