2024 Fantasy Outlook
Coming off a promising 2022 campaign at Double-A Amarillo, Barrosa essentially repeated that success in 2023 at Triple-A Reno, where he posted career-bests in OPS (.850), slugging (.456) and home runs (13). However, the 5-foot-5, 165-pound outfielder benefitted greatly from hitter-friendly environments. That power is not expected to follow him into the majors, but Barrosa does have innate skills that burnish his status as a prospect. Particularly, his speed, glove and discerning eye put him on a trajectory to MLB. The switch-hitting outfielder is also competent from both sides of the dish, which could be useful as a fourth outfielder. Long term, an everyday job in the Diamondbacks' organization may not be in the cards. Arizona's deep reservoir of outfield talent in the majors and pipeline may require a new home for Barrosa to shine. Read Past Outlooks

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Barrosa began 2022 back at High-A but quickly earned a promotion to Double-A, ultimately settling for a .279/.372/.439 batting line, 13 home runs and 26 stolen bases between the two stops. It's easily the most power the diminutive Barrosa has shown as a pro and was probably mostly a result of him playing at hitter-friendly Double-A Amarillo (12 of the 13 homers came there). While Barrosa might ultimately not hit for much, if any, power in the majors, he'll steal bases and should get on base at a decent clip in large part due to excellent contact skills. The 22-year-old also boasts major-league ready defense in center field. Barrosa might need a trade to another organization to get a shot soon, though, given how loaded Arizona's outfield group is.
