2026 Fantasy Outlook
Barrosa spent the majority of the 2025 season with Triple-A Reno, where he put up respectable numbers (.809 OPS with 10 steals, seven home runs and 58 RBI in 456 plate appearances). However, he wasn't able to bring that level of play when he was called up to the majors. He struggled at the plate with a .141/.169/.225 slash line with one home run, seven RBI and a 28.6 percent strikeout rate in 77 plate appearances. He ranks low across most advanced batting stats (albeit with a small sample size), but he does have above-average speed that should allow him to see some major-league action in 2026 if the Diamondbacks are in need of depth in the outfield. It's possible that Barrosa is on Arizona's Opening Day roster if one or both of Lourdes Gurriel (knee) and Corbin Carrol (hand) are unavailable. Read Past Outlooks
On bench for third straight game
Barrosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Analysis
After starting in center field in the first two games following Jordan Lawlar's (hamstring) placement on the injured list Saturday, Barrosa now finds himself on the bench for a third straight contest. Rather than getting an extended look in a near-everyday role, Barrosa looks like he'll continue to serve as a fourth outfielder while Tommy Troy instead works as the primary replacement for Lawlar in center.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Coming off a promising 2022 campaign at Double-A Amarillo, Barrosa essentially repeated that success in 2023 at Triple-A Reno, where he posted career-bests in OPS (.850), slugging (.456) and home runs (13). However, the 5-foot-5, 165-pound outfielder benefitted greatly from hitter-friendly environments. That power is not expected to follow him into the majors, but Barrosa does have innate skills that burnish his status as a prospect. Particularly, his speed, glove and discerning eye put him on a trajectory to MLB. The switch-hitting outfielder is also competent from both sides of the dish, which could be useful as a fourth outfielder. Long term, an everyday job in the Diamondbacks' organization may not be in the cards. Arizona's deep reservoir of outfield talent in the majors and pipeline may require a new home for Barrosa to shine.
