July 1, 2026
The Royals placed Seabold on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right lat strain.
Analysis
Seabold had to be pulled from an appearance Tuesday against the Rays because of the injury. The severity of the strain is unclear, but even a mild one could result in an absence beyond the 15-day minimum. Seabold has pitched for three different teams this season, collecting a 5.25 ERA and 20:11 K:BB across 24 frames.

* Exit Velocity, Barrels/BBE %, Balls Hit 95+ MPH %, and Spin Rate are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 30 IP). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Seabold made five starts for the Red Sox in 2022 and allowed 23 earned runs with a 19:8 K:BB across 18.1 innings. He spent most of the campaign with Triple-A Worcester, where he excelled with a 3.32 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 19 starts. The question marks in Boston's rotation weren't enough to keep Seabold around, as he was designated for assignment and subsequently traded to Colorado in January. The right-hander's struggles during his brief big-league action don't illustrate much fantasy upside for the immediate future, but he should at least receive more chances with the Rockies in 2023.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Named Worcester's top pitcher
PBoston Red Sox
September 25, 2022
Seabold has been named the 2022 Worcester Red Sox Pitcher of the Year, reports Joe McDonald of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
Analysis
Seabold has compiled a 3.32 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 89:19 K:BB in 86.2 innings across 19 starts for Triple-A Worcester. That success has not translated to the majors yet as he's allowed 19 runs and 36 baserunners in 16.1 innings for Boston. It's a nice honor for the 26-year-old but one he likely hopes to not repeat as it will mean he's spent a significant amount of time in the minors again.
