2026 Fantasy Outlook
Prielipp finally had a healthy season after two Tommy John surgeries limited him to 32.2 innings in his first three professional seasons. The 48th overall draft pick in 2022 had Tommy John surgery in 2021 and then needed internal brace surgery on the same elbow in July 2023. The Twins limited him to pitching less than five innings in any start until late September. The results were promising with a 3.65 ERA, 10.7 K/9 and 2.6 BB/9 in 61.2 innings at Double-A. He had a 5.15 ERA when promoted to Triple-A in September with an elevated walk rate (4.5 BB/9) but still had a strong 10.7 K/9. He threw a career-high six innings in his final start of the season while building up to 82.2 innings -- his first time over 25 innings in a season, including college. Prielipp has a strong repertoire and a high ceiling as a starter if he can continue to handle a starter's workload. Read Past Outlooks

Prielipp did not factor into the decision in Friday's 8-6 win over the Red Sox, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks with one strikeout over four innings.
Analysis
Prielipp yielded four runs in the first frame and struggled with his command overall, throwing just 49 of 85 pitches for strikes with only seven whiffs. It was the first major hiccup of the season for the rookie, who entered Friday having allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his first five major-league outings. He now owns a 4.03 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB across 29 innings and will aim to bounce back in a road matchup against the White Sox next week.

2023
The 48th overall draft pick in 2022 hasn't been able to stay healthy as he needed Tommy John surgery in 2021 and then needed internal brace surgery on the same elbow in July 2023. He threw just 23.1 innings last year while working his way back from the injury. It's not clear long term if the Twins will keep him as a starter or move him to the bullpen, but he has the strikeout rate to be an impact arm in the majors (41.6% K% at High-A last season).
Prielipp hasn't been able to stay healthy as he needed Tommy John surgery in 2021 and then needed internal brace surgery on the same elbow last summer. The 48th overall draft pick in 2022 has an easy plus slider and could touch the upper-90s from the left side in short bursts, which could eventually push him to the bullpen. He will be kept on starting pitching path for now. He'll likely be eased back into action at Low-A.
Due to the pandemic in 2020 and Tommy John surgery in 2021, Prielipp was limited to 28 innings during his time at Alabama. In that time, he had a 0.96 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, 45.6 K%, and 6.8 BB%, although most of those innings did not come against high-level competition. Minnesota gave him $1.83 million (slightly over slot) after selecting him with the 48th overall pick last year. The 6-foot-2 southpaw boasts one of the best pitches in the class in his mid-80s slider that can touch 90 mph. He sits in the low-90s with his fastball and has touched 96 mph, and odds are he will sit more in the mid-90s with pro instruction. Prielipp's changeup is a solid third pitch, but he hasn't thrown it much. His stuff was reportedly all the way back in fall instructs, and in a weak pitching class, his combination of stuff, size and handedness stands out.

Likely to join 40-man roster
PMinnesota Twins
November 16, 2025
Prielipp is expected to be added to Minnesota's 40-man roster ahead of the Rule 5 Draft, reports Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic.
Analysis
The left-hander is one of the Twins' top prospects, so it would be surprising if the organization didn't protect him from the Rule 5 Draft. Prielipp opened the 2025 campaign at the Double-A level and had a 3.65 ERA in 19 starts before moving up to Triple-A for the final weeks of the season.
