2026 Fantasy Outlook
In a season that much of Seattle's elite rotation was banged up, Woo stayed mostly healthy in 2025 and made a career-high 30 regular-season starts while leading the team with 186.2 innings. He did miss the final week-plus of the regular season due to a pectoral strain but returned to the mound against the Blue Jays in the ALCS. Woo's 2.94 ERA and 0.93 WHIP were nearly identical from 2024, but he improved his strikeout rate nearly six points to 27.1 percent while maintaining a 4.9 percent walk rate, which ranked fourth among qualified starting pitchers. A 3.10 xERA and 3.33 xFIP indicate he may have gotten some fortunate results at times, but his numbers were good enough that even some regression isn't a major concern. He took advantage of having pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park as his home stadium with a 2.44 ERA, but he also pitched to a 3.40 ERA on the road. More durability was a welcome sight given Woo's health issues in the past, which combined with the improved strikeout numbers will significantly raise his fantasy profile for 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Tamed by Tigers
Woo (5-4) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on nine hits over 6.1 innings as the Mariners fell 7-3 to the Tigers. He struck out seven without walking a batter.
Analysis
Only one of the hits off Woo went for extra bases, but it was a two-run homer by Kerry Carpenter in the third inning that put Detroit in the lead for good. It's the third time in seven starts since the beginning of May that the right-hander has been tagged for at least four runs, and over that stretch he sports a 3.64 ERA in 42 innings despite a 0.95 WHIP, 48:8 K:BB and just three home runs allowed. Woo will look to bounce back in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Baltimore.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Woo's 2024 season was an extension of his professional resume: impressive stints disrupted by injury. Woo required an internal brace procedure after his collegiate career in 2021, but reached the majors in 2023 and worked 131.2 innings while skipping over Triple-A in the process. The 2024 season saw him pitch nearly the same amount of innings between the majors and a minor league rehab assignment due to a mid-summer hamstring injury that preceded a forearm discomfort scare in mid-June. Woo throws five different pitches to both lefties and righties, with his sweeper being the deadliest of them all. Woo mainly used the sweeper to neutralize righties (.100 avg, 42 percent whiff rate) while using his changeup to lefties (.186 avg, 21 percent whiff rate), which helped his four-seam fastball (.218 avg, 27 percent whiff rate) play up extremely well. The pieces are here for Woo to take a step forward in 2025 like the other starters around him have recently done, but his health troubles need to get out of the way for him to fully realize his potential.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected to be in ALCS roster
Woo is dealing with a pectoral injury but is expected to be included on the Mariners' ALCS roster, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis
Woo wasn't included on the ALDS roster, but it appears he'll be back for the ALCS. However, the right-hander likely won't be available for the first few games of the series, meaning his postseason debut will presumably come after the series moves to Seattle for Games 3 and 4.
