2026 Fantasy Outlook
The toolsy Doyle cut down on his strikeouts and put together a breakout season for the Rockies in 2024, accumulating 23 home runs and 30 stolen bases. Unfortunately, the 2025 campaign was a step back, outside of his usual stellar defense in center field. That said, there are some reasons to think a bounce-back season for Doyle in 2026 is in the offing. While Doyle still struck out more than your average big leaguer, the improvement he showed from 2023 to 2024 stuck, with his 25.7 percent strikeout rate this past season virtually matching his 25.4 percent mark from 2024. Additionally, Doyle's hard-hit rate (44.6 percent), barrel rate (10.8 percent) and average exit velocity (89.9 mph) were all a tick better year-over-year. Doyle also dealt with an off-the-field tragedy early in the season when he and his wife lost their unborn baby, which might have affected his play. The 27-year-old has the type of hitting profile that will lead to ups and downs, and there will be road trips when you'll want to bench him (he slashed just .162/.209/.251 away from Coors Field in 2025). However, if you can stomach the roller coaster, Doyle should deliver better results in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Back on bench for Game 1
Doyle is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Analysis
Doyle will hit the bench for the third time in four games while he's struggled to a .219/.288/.288 slash line with one home run and six steals through 80 plate appearances this season. Jake McCarthy is picking up another start in center field in Sunday's matinee and may have unseated Doyle atop the depth chart.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2020
Doyle ruled in 2024 as he evolved his defensive-first 2023 approach to a more balanced approach in 2024, becoming one of the biggest fantasy surprises considering he was overlooked in many drafts last winter. Doyle's improvement had a direct correlation to his reduction in contact rate, as he improved his strikeout rate by nearly 10 full percentage points while reducing his swinging strike rate nearly four full percentage points. Doyle was arguably the most improbable of the 19 players who finished with at least 20 homers and 20 steals in 2024 because of how badly he looked in 2023 offensively. The ace he always has up his sleeve is his defense in center field, which is unmatched on the Colorado roster, and those abilities are necessary in the spacious outfield at home. Doyle, like most Colorado hitters, hit much better at home (.313) than on the road (.211), but that was the exact opposite of what happened in his rookie season when he hit .168 at home and .236 on the road. Home/road splits are always a volatile measure, but Doyle's defense is as constant as they come. The challenge for Doyle in 2025 is to avoid the script Nolan Jones played from 2023 to 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected to stay put
The Rockies are likely to keep Doyle rather than trade him, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
The center fielder has drawn trade interest, but it seems new president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta prefers not to sell low on Doyle, who regressed to a .650 OPS in 2025. Doyle will be entering his age-28 season and is under club control for four more years, so there's no rush to trade the outfielder to a contender at this juncture.
