Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Lockridge was on the Padres' Opening Day roster in 2025 but saw his playing time steadily decline after a stint on the IL due to a hamstring injury. He was optioned to Triple-A in late June before being dealt to the Brewers at the trade deadline, and he was on Milwaukee's major-league roster in August before being sent back to the minors. Lockridge doesn't provide much power, having logged just five home runs over the past two seasons across the majors and minors. He faces an uphill battle to make the Brewers' Opening Day roster in 2026 unless the team needs depth in the outfield, so he can safely stay on waivers in most fantasy formats. Read Past Outlooks
Will get MRI
Lockridge is expected to get an MRI on his injured right knee once swelling subsides, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Analysis
Lockridge needed "about 10" stitches in the knee after crashing into a side wall in the outfield during Friday's contest versus the Yankees. While Lockridge was placed on the injured list Saturday and is currently on crutches, he said the laceration may heal in 7-to-10 days. Should that be the case, and should his MRI come back clean, Lockridge may be able to return to action before the end of May.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lockridge got a brief cup of coffee in the majors last season, going 2-for-12 with a solo home run and two stolen bases as a September callup. He earned the promotion on the strength of an impressive stint with the Padres' Triple-A club, during which he slashed .328/.431/.426 with two homers and 14 steals over 32 games after San Diego acquired him in a trade with the Yankees in late July. All told, Lockridge played 116 games across his time in the Yankees' and Padres' systems (including his short big-league stretch), going a combined 50-for-56 in stolen base attempts. There'd likely be more excitement about him in fantasy circles if he had even average power, but after slugging 14 homers in Double-A in 2022, Lockridge has gone deep just five times in 619 subsequent minor-league at-bats. Nonetheless, Lockridge's elite speed and on-base skills suggest he could surface as a stolen-base specialist, though his most likely path to the big-league roster is as a fourth outfielder.
